Two Individuals Accused In Connection With Heathrow ‘Pepper Spray’ Incident
Two men have been charged following a luggage theft where a substance thought to be pepper spray led to people being hurt at the UK's busiest airport.
Tyrone Richards, 31, and Anton Clarke-Butcher, 24, are accused of two robbery charges and charges for deploying a toxic agent, according to official statements.
This legal action stems from an investigation into an assault at the parking structure at Heathrow's Terminal Three on the weekend. Before the assault occurred, two women were robbed of their luggage stolen after exiting a parking garage elevator, according to law enforcement.
A toddler was caught up in the incident in the event. Five people required hospital care and were later discharged.
This event – described by police as was a standalone event and deemed non-terroristic – resulted in disruptions to rail services and the partial closure of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the T3 parking area for a brief period.
