Tributes Flow for the Reiners as Autopsy Reports Face a Security Hold.

Well beyond 14 days after the tragic deaths of celebrated filmmaker Rob Reiner and his wife, photographer Michele Reiner, peers and loved ones persist in remembering the duo.

A Heartfelt Farewell: Cary Elwes Recalls His Director

Writing on Instagram, actor Cary Elwes, who was featured in Reiner's iconic movie *The Princess Bride*, explained he finally felt prepared to express about his profound loss.

"Enough time has elapsed that I can at last put my grief into words," shared Elwes, saying that his first meeting with Reiner created an instant bond. "Once we started passing more hours together I understood this was someone I longed to have in my life."

The actor posted behind-the-scenes footage from the film, commenting that he cannot recall "a single day without mirth".

"The movie is about affection, allegiance and giving. Principles that Rob cherished deeply. This is one of the many reasons he was the ideal person to direct it," Elwes expressed.

He went on to praise Michele Reiner, saying: "Claiming that they were a formidable pair would be an oversimplification. My heart still hurts every time I recall you." He concluded with a line from *The Princess Bride*: "Indeed, death cannot stop true love but life is pain without you."

Martin Scorsese Remembers a Colleague and Comrade

In a different piece, legendary director Martin Scorsese paid homage to Reiner, whom he initially encountered in the 1970s.

"Right away, I loved spending time with Rob. We had a instant connection for each other. He was hilarious and sometimes bitingly funny, but he was never the kind of guy who would dominate the room," Scorsese said.

Scorsese mentioned Reiner's acting part in his 2013 film *The Wolf of Wall Street*, portraying the father of the main character.

"He was skilled at improv with the best. He was a master at comedy, he worked beautifully with everyone, and he understood the personal struggle of his character," Scorsese wrote.

Court Proceedings: Autopsy Reports Sealed

This week, a Los Angeles court official ruled to block the publication of the Reiners' medical examiner's reports, after an appeal from the local authorities.

A judicial mandate placed a security hold on the files to restrict the public release of "any investigative information, evidence and photographs" associated with the probe.

The relevant authority had already determined their deaths were the outcome of homicide, with a official listing noting the cause as "wounds from an edged weapon".

Fallout and Commentary

In the wake of the deaths, public figures shared different comments.

Former President Donald Trump posted on the matter, providing provocative claims that were met with immediate backlash by numerous public figures.

Podcaster Joe Rogan contributed his perspective to the critics last week. Speaking on his program, Rogan described the remarks as "disappointing" and suggested they demonstrated a troubling absence of compassion.

Rogan concluded by proposing that an adviser should have stepped in when the choice to weigh in on the passing was made.
