Plane Carrying Pete Hegseth Required to Touch Down in UK Because of Fracture in Windshield
A plane ferrying Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth was required to make an unplanned landing in the UK on Wednesday due to a fissure was found in the jet's front window, per an official statement which confirmed that Hegseth was safe.
"The plane landed in accordance with standard protocol and all individuals on the flight, including Pete Hegseth, is unharmed," a press officer commented in a social media post.
Hegseth was returning from a quick journey to the Belgian capital at the time.
This incident is not the first time that a United States armed forces jet ferrying a top government figure has encountered mechanical issues.
Earlier this year, a United States Air Force aircraft transporting Marco Rubio to the German city of Munich was compelled to turn back to Washington after suffering a mechanical problem.
