Barcelona Set to Play First Match at Renovated Camp Nou on Saturday

Barça revealed they are set to host at the renovated but unfinished Camp Nou on Saturday. Athletic Bilbao will visit the Basque side in domestic competition 30 months after they moved out for construction to commence.

“Returning home was our dream. Finally, it’s happening. We are back at Spotify Camp Nou.”

The stadium will not be at full capacity but 45,401 spectators are permitted inside as per the current authorization. When completed, it will accommodate over 104,000 attendees, up from the previous 99,000. The club said finished work included an updated entryway for the team and new dressing rooms.

Stadium Testing

Barça organized a public practice at the Camp Nou on 7 November. They mentioned approval is being pursued by UEFA to host the next European match versus the German side next month at Camp Nou. Previous fixtures took place at the Olympic Stadium.
