Anthony Joshua Released from Hospital in Nigeria Following Fatal Car Crash
Former heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua has been released from care, local government spokespeople stated on late Wednesday. The 36-year-old was involved in a car accident outside Lagos on December 29th, a horrific crash that took the lives of two of his valued colleagues.
Recovering from Minor Injuries
The boxer had been receiving medical attention while recovering from minor injuries, representatives had said on Monday. The commissioner for information and strategy, Gbenga Omotoso, said in a statement on social media that Joshua was judged healthy enough to continue his recovery at home.
“The boxer and his mother were at the funeral home in Lagos this afternoon to pay their final respects to his two deceased friends as they were being readied to be sent home,” the official remarked.
Remembering the Victims
Those who lost their lives were identified as Latif Ayodele, a personal trainer, and Sina Ghami, a conditioning specialist. It was also noted that the boxer was “heavy-hearted and full of emotions over the loss of his two trusted companions.”
This update on his health comes as the boxing community had expressed condolences for the star in the aftermath of the terrible crash.
